5th and 6th classes 7km cycle

To celebrate upcoming bike week 2014,the boys and girls of 5th and 6th classes participated in a 7km cycle trip on Friday 6th June.This initiative also helps promote our ongoing pursuit of the Green School Travel and Active School flag.The children cycled a local route mapped out by Limerick Sports Partnership, Community Gardai and Cycling Pursuit staff. All the children’s bikes had safety checks prior to departure and a 30 minute safety observation review took place after the cycle in the school hall. The children really enjoyed the cycle and learned alot too about cycling in a safe manner on the road. Also the importance of physical fitness was reinforced with the children. Lets hope it will encourage the boys and girls to get out cycling during the summer holidays.
