Lisnagry National School has participated in the Safer Cycling programme for the past five years. Sixth class pupils always complete the training and 30 children took part again this year. The Programme includes cycling safety theory, bicycle care and practical bicycle safety and skills training. This course is conducted on school grounds. The aim of the programme is to progress all participants through the training, teaching them how to cycle and to control the bike in most situations. It is a very worthwhile experience for the children run by Limerick County Council in conjunction with the Road Safety Authority. The children really enjoyed it.
